MERGE


MERGE is a modern take on a classic ribbed beanie, featuring a mesmerizing pattern of ribs that converge and diverge in staggered bands. This pattern includes an (optional) tubular cast on, as well as both written and charted instructions for the engaging (and far easier than it looks!) cable pattern and crown shaping.

Short version:
165 (175, 185, 195) yards [150 (160, 170, 180) meters] DK weight yarn; shown in Tov DK by Woolfolk (100% merino wool; 50 g / 160 yd / 146 m) – requires 2 skeins in color No. 4

Long version:
205 (215, 230, 240) yards [190 (195, 210, 220) meters] DK weight yarn; shown in Mt. Vernon Collection 3ply DK by Cestari (100% merino wool; 100 g / 232 yd / 212 m) – requires 1 (1, 2, 2) skeins in Goldenrod

GAUGE 
33 stitches x 36 rows = 4″ in 2x2 rib with larger needles, unstretched (after blocking)

SUGGESTED NEEDLES 
One 16” circular needle in size needed to obtain gauge listed
Suggested Size: 3.25 mm (US 3)

One 16″ circular needle, one size smaller than size needed to obtain gauge listed (for tubular cast-on)
Suggested Size: 2.75 mm (US 2)
